As we are using our debit cards more than ever during these difficult times with Covid-19. Our Fraud Department has asked us to remind our ATM members of a few Security issues if contacted by them to verify ATM transactions:
Our Fraud Department will NEVER ask you confidential information such as your full Social Security number, your bank account number, your debit card number, your CVV number on your card, your PIN number.
Don’t answer phone calls from unknown numbers. Valid callers will leave a message.
It is ok to be skeptical-Caller ID can be faked. If during business hours, contact our office to verify if the Fraud Department is attempting to contact you.
Be aware-legitimate businesses do not make unsolicited calls for personal, sensitive information. If you receive an unsolicited call asking this-it is probably a scam.
Don’t give into pressure-Many times the callers will pressure or scare you into giving your personal information. If so, do NOT give any personal information & hang up.
Don’t respond to unverified SMS texts asking you to call your financial institution. Text messages from Acushnet Federal Credit Union never contain hyperlinks or request any confidential information via text.
The security of your personal information is a primary goal of Acushnet Federal Credit Union. Our Fraud Department will NEVER ask you for confidential information such as your full Social Security number, your full bank account number, your debit card number, your CVV number on your card, your PIN number in an email or via a web site, online chat or from an unsolicited phone call. If you receive a suspicious email or phone call requesting confidential information, it is NOT from Acushnet Federal Credit Union’s Fraud Department.
Please report suspicious unsolicited phone calls by calling our Fraud Department Customer Service at 1-888-241-2440. If you have any further question regarding your ATM card, please contact our office at 508-995-9100.
