ABOUT US
Acushnet Federal Credit Union has as its mission the responsibility for providing an efficient, effective, and well-managed financial institution that meets the needs of its membership. In order to accomplish this mission, the AFCU will continue a sound yet progressive asset management strategy and provide new and improved financial services to current and future members through membership input and management initiatives.
HISTORY AND STRUCTURE
AFCU is a voluntary, nonprofit, cooperative association of individuals sharing a community bond as defined by our field of membership. Each member is an owner of the Credit Union and is entitled to a single vote regarding the business of the Credit Union.
The credit union was established in June 1960 as St. Francis Xavier Acushnet Federal Credit Union. As of September 14th 1967, St. Francis Xavier Acushnet Federal Credit Union was officially known as Acushnet Federal Credit Union

Our field of membership includes persons who live, work, worship or attend school and businesses and other legal entities located in the city of New Bedford or the towns of Acushnet, Freetown, Lakeville, Rochester, Assonet and Fairhaven. Join us today.
