ABOUT US

Acushnet Federal Credit Union has as its mission the responsibility for providing an efficient, effective, and well-managed financial institution that meets the needs of its membership.  In order to accomplish this mission, the AFCU will continue a sound yet progressive asset management strategy and provide new and improved financial services to current and future members through membership input and management initiatives.

HISTORY AND STRUCTURE

AFCU is a voluntary, nonprofit, cooperative association of individuals sharing a community bond as defined by our field of membership. Each member is an owner of the Credit Union and is entitled to a single vote regarding the business of the Credit Union.

The credit union was established in June 1960 as St. Francis Xavier Acushnet Federal Credit Union. As of September 14th 1967, St. Francis Xavier Acushnet Federal Credit Union was officially known as Acushnet Federal Credit Union

Attention Members:

Effective Monday, June 22, 2020 our credit union lobby will be re-opening with the following restrictions & are subject to change should the need arise:

  • Only 2 members will be permitted in the credit union lobby at a time

  • 6 foot social distancing rules and guidelines must be followed

  • Masks MUST be worn by everyone entering the lobby

  • Our Coin Machine WILL NOT be in service until further notice

  • Anyone interested in opening a new account(s) or apply for a new loan MUST make an appointment.  These services will be by Appointment Only-No Exceptions!

  • Anyone who does not abide by the rules & regulations set forth by the governor and the Credit Union regarding the safety of our staff & members will be asked to leave the building & conduct business at the drive thru
